I think the good thing (and the essence) about Hank Schmidt in der Beek's work here is that he walked a long way into the mountains with empty canvasses to paint the motif of his own shirts, something he could've done easily at home. You indeed also used the motif of shirts you are wearing in the work that you mention, but I think the way in which and the situation within which it is done here is quite different. Schmidt in der Beek uses it a lot less formal and less focused only on how things look, but more with an eye for a complete situation as an idea, in a funny way playing with the stereotype of the landscape painter. I don't really think you can compare both works, to be honest.</description>
